Multihoming
Multihoming refers to the connection to at least two independent IP access providers, each with their own network infrastructure. For businesses and ISPs that depend on a 100% reliable and fault-tolerant internet connectivity, multihoming is the solution.
The core of multihoming is the BGP4 routing protocol, which automatically keeps up your internet connectivity through a second IP access provider if the first one should fail.
Our services range from providing PI space (provider-independent IP address space) over provisioning of ASNs (autonomous system numbers) to consulting when it comes to purchasing the right routing equipment or a complete implementation and the management of a multihoming solution.
Lightup Network Solutions is a member of the RIPE NCC (
LIR) since September 2002 and owns and operates their own ASN (
AS25486) and provider-independent IP address ranges. Through our direct contacts at RIPE we guarantee for the shortest processing times regarding PI, PA and ASN requests.
